As the Buyer of Merchandise & Fan Apparel, you’ll help shape the apparel and fan merchandise our fans see throughout the season. This role supports merchandise planning and product execution for the Saskatoon Berries baseball club, Saskatchewan Rush lacrosse team, and Saskatoon Blades hockey team, helping ensure our retail assortment stays fresh, relevant, and aligned with what our fans want to wear.

If you follow apparel trends, enjoy spotting great product ideas, and want to build a career in marketing and retail buying, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sports, retail, and fan culture.

This Role Might Be For You If…

  • You follow apparel brands, sports merchandise, or lifestyle fashion trends
  • You enjoy the mix of creative product ideas and analytical thinking
  • You like seeing a product move from idea to design to retail shelf
  • You’re interested in building a career in marketing, merchandising, buying, or brand-driven retail

What You’ll Be Doing

Curating the Product Mix

  • Contribute ideas and insight toward our merchandise assortment by identifying products, styles, and trends that resonate with our fans
  • Monitor product performance and help identify opportunities for new merchandise or product improvements
  • Stay on top of apparel, sports merchandise, and lifestyle trends
  • Work with our vendor partners to help bring new merchandise ideas and products to market

Supporting Team & Event Merchandise

  • Coordinate merchandise for game days, events, and teamwear programs across the Saskatoon Berries, Saskatchewan Rush, and Saskatoon Blades
  • Help plan product launches around team schedules and promotional events
  • Ensure merchandise is ready for key retail moments throughout the season

Working Closely with Retail

  • Stay connected to the retail floor to understand what customers are responding to
  • Support merchandising and product presentation in the retail environment
  • Participate in game day retail operations
  • Use customer feedback and sales insights to inform future merchandise decisions

Managing the Details

  • Create and manage purchase orders
  • Maintain accurate product information including pricing and costs
  • Monitor inventory levels and help maintain strong product availability
  • Coordinate with vendors on order timelines and delivery schedules
  • Build and maintain positive vendor relationships and professionally resolve order, shipment, or invoicing discrepancies when they arise

What You Bring

  • A university or college degree in Business, Marketing, Retail, or a related field
  • Strong interest in apparel, merchandising, or sports merchandise
  • Curiosity about fashion trends, branding, and consumer behavior
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in Excel and reviewing product performance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
